December 30, 2025

LOVING COUNTY, TX - On December 17, 2025, deputies with the Loving County Sheriff's Office, working with area law enforcement agencies, arrested four individuals connected to an ongoing theft ring targeting oilfield equipment in Loving County and across the Permian Basin. Following an extensive investigation, the four suspects were caught in the act of unlawfully taking oilfield equipment from oil companies. The arrested individuals are:

  • Jim Tyler Costello
  • Ladana Square
  • Bo Randy Costello
  • Adam Nelson

Each individual was charged with:

  • Theft of Petroleum Product or Oil and Gas Equipment (Texas Penal Code 31.19)
  • Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (Texas Penal Code 71.02)

All four suspects were transported to the Winkler County Jail. All Suspects are currently out on Bond.

Assisting agencies:

  • Loving County Constable's Office
  • Reeves County Sheriff's Office
  • Texas Department of Public Safety - CID Oilfield Theft Prevention Unit
  • Texas Department of Public Safety - Highway Patrol Pecos Area

Property and assets seized at the time of arrest are estimated at over $250,000.

"This operation and investigation represent our ongoing efforts to combat organized theft targeting the oil and gas industry in our region," said David Landersman, Loving County Sheriff. "We will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to protect the businesses and workers of the Permian Basin."

This investigation remains ongoing and is being led by the Loving County Sheriff's Office.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
